On paper the hook is genuine, because the therapist, normally the neutral figure, is part of the arrangement, so the place the protagonist goes for help leads straight back to the household. That pushes the story toward psychological drama rather than straightforward romance.
Kenzie Whitaker also leads My Girlfriend’s Step-Sister Caught Me Staring, whose title suggests a more conventional setup, so this is the character's more unusual outing. For another story in which the people around one person are quietly coordinating, Courtney's Secret scales the idea up to a whole neighborhood. If a family working in concert behind someone's back appeals to you, this is one of the stronger concepts at the standard five-episode length.
