What is free, what needs Premium, what costs tokens
Candy AI runs on two currencies at once. The Premium membership removes caps; tokens pay for each extra you generate or unlock. This is how the tools map onto them, from Candy AI's help center and plans page on October 2, 2026:

Premium costs $3.99 a month on the annual plan ($47.88 billed once), $8.99 a month quarterly ($26.97) or $13.99 month to month, and adds 100 tokens on each monthly date. One account, every tool
Everything above lives on candy.ai, behind a single account and a single subscription. The Premium you buy for the series on candyshorts.com is the same Candy AI Premium, with the same plan IDs and prices, so it also lifts the chat cap and unlocks 18+ generation. The reverse holds too: someone who subscribed for chat already has the Shorts membership.
The same account also carries a few smaller features worth knowing about. Live Action is a Premium-only, token-gated interactive mode. Candy Roulette costs 5 tokens a minute. Exclusive Characters unlock for a set number of tokens (the help center's example is 200). And Premium Plus, the newest tier, raises the monthly allowance to 330 tokens and adds personas, more memory slots and clone chats; its price is not shown to guests.
The rules that apply to every tool
- Adults only. You must affirm you are over 18 to use the platform, and Candy AI may ask for more verification depending on where you live.
- No real people. The Community Guidelines ban creating images that resemble real persons; the only real likenesses are the licensed creator digital twins.
- Hard limits. The Blocked Content Policy bans content resembling minors, non-consensual imagery, deepfakes, self-harm and more, whatever the setting. Details in Candy AI NSFW rules.
- Sharing. Generated content is for personal, non-commercial use, and content made with characters from the Explore page or the homepage should not be posted publicly.
- Privacy. Chats and prompts are stored, may be reviewed when flagged and may be used, de-identified, to train models. More in is Candy AI safe?
