Candy AI review 2026: chat, images, video and Shorts

Most people searching "Candy AI review" want one answer: is Candy AI worth paying for? We did not buy a subscription to find out. On October 2, 2026 we read Candy AI's subscription page and homepage, the Terms of Service (revised September 22, 2026), the Privacy Notice, the content policies, the EverAI help center and the public Shorts catalogue, then scored what those sources commit Candy AI to. Where they disagree, we say so.

What Candy AI is in 2026

Candy AI is an adult AI companion platform run by EverAI Limited, a company registered in Malta (number C107181). You chat with ready-made AI characters or build your own, and the characters can answer with images, voice and video. The terms are blunt about its purpose: the services "are for entertainment purposes only" and "not intended as emotional or other forms of support". Under one login you get:

• Companion chat with ready-made characters, plus custom characters you design yourself.
• Image generation, including 18+ images for Premium members.
• Video generation: an image converted to video, and a preset builder called "Build Your Video". More in Candy AI videos.
• Voice: voice messages and phone-style calls, the calls still labeled beta.
• Live Action, which the help center calls "a Premium-only, token-gated feature".
• Private Content packs and Exclusive Characters, both unlocked with tokens, and Candy Roulette, billed by the minute.
• Candy Creators: AI digital twins of real creators, 13 of them on the creators page on October 2, 2026, made "in direct partnership with and with the full consent of the creator", according to the help center. See Candy Shorts digital twins.

That breadth is Candy AI's main strength.

Free vs Premium vs Premium Plus

Premium renews automatically "for the same price and term", and the terms allow price increases if they are announced before the renewal. Yearly members get their 100 tokens month by month. Premium Plus is what the help center calls "our newest subscription tier"; we could not see its price without an account, so we can't say whether the extra 230 tokens a month are good value.

The free tier is a demo rather than a plan: five messages are enough to see how a character writes, not to judge it. The homepage also mentions "the free trial", but no trial plan appeared on the subscriptions page. We cover that gap in is Candy AI free.

Tokens: the second currency

Premium's price is only half the cost. Candy AI runs on tokens, and the help center is explicit that "regular chatting doesn't cost tokens", while images, video, voice and private content do. What we could confirm on October 2, 2026:

Token packs are sold at candy.ai/tokens, behind the sign-in page, so we have no verified pack prices. The only official dollar figure is in the referral program: you and the person you invite each get 200 tokens, described as "a $20 value". That suggests roughly 10 cents a token, though it is not a price list. For scale, Premium's 100 monthly tokens cover about eight regular Shorts episodes, three creator-series episodes or half an hour of beta voice calls. Under the terms, tokens can't be transferred or exchanged for money.

Premium members can switch off in-chat image generation, which also stops the tokens those images cost.

Where Shorts fit, and why they set Candy AI apart

Candy Shorts are what makes Candy AI different from the rest of the category. The help center describes them as "short, AI-generated cinematic videos featuring Candy.ai characters in scripted scenarios", each "under two minutes per episode" and "separate from your chat conversations". On October 2, 2026 the library held 132 series: 123 regular titles with 707 episodes between them, plus 9 Spicy titles shown only to signed-in adults. Episodes 1 and 2 of every regular series are free, 246 episodes in all, and on candyshorts.com they play without an account.

On the competitor pages we read the same day, nothing matched it: OurDream AI offers standalone clips, not episodic series, and Kalon AI's "Clips" section loads by script, so we could not verify it. See Candy AI vs OurDream AI.

Two caveats. First, the paywall on candyshorts.com promises "Unlimited access to exclusive stories", but the site's own terms say "a limited number of candyshorts episodes and tokens are included in a subscription", with further episodes available for tokens; inside candy.ai, episodes from 3 onward show a price of 12 tokens, or 30 on creator series. Second, the homepage says "New episodes coming out every week", while the help center says "we can't guarantee a release schedule". Our Candy Shorts review judges the series on their own.

Billing, cancelling and refunds

• Statement name: charges show as "EverAI", not Candy AI.
• Payment methods: cards, crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfer (Volt, Pix), depending on your country.
• Cancelling: My Profile → Settings → Unsubscribe. There is no pause option, and Premium stays active to the end of the period you paid for.
• Refunds: request within 24 hours of payment, and only if you have used 20 tokens or fewer; card payments only. Cancelling does not trigger a refund by itself.
• EU and UK: a 14-day right to withdraw from the initial purchase, reduced in proportion to what you used. Renewals are not covered.
• Chargebacks: filing one cancels the subscription immediately.
• Deleting the account (Settings → Danger Zone) cancels an active subscription, though some data is kept for legally required periods.

The weak point is tokens after cancelling. The Terms of Service (section 10.2) say remaining tokens "will expire and become unusable", while a help article updated in August 2026 says "Canceling your subscription does NOT delete your tokens". We can't tell you which applies, so spend your balance before you cancel. The steps are in how to cancel Candy AI.

Privacy: what happens to your chats

Candy AI's privacy terms give EverAI wide rights over what you type and generate:

• Your content can be used for "training, developing, enhancing, evolving and improving" EverAI's AI models (Terms, section 4), and preparing training data "may include human review of de-identified and/or anonymized interactions".
• Messages can go to "third-party LLM providers and/or hosters", and data may be transferred outside the EU, "including but not limited to the United States".
• If moderation flags something, "we or authorized partners may access and manually review the flagged content".
• Account data is kept for three years after your last activity, financial records for ten years, log files for 30 days. The notice says personal data is not sold or transferred without consent where required, "or unless otherwise stated".
• Deleted chats cannot be recovered.

The practical takeaway: a Candy AI chat is not a private diary. More on data and discreet billing in is Candy AI safe.

Reputation: the hidden Trustpilot profile

If you look for Candy AI on Trustpilot, you won't find a score. On October 2, 2026, candy.ai's profile showed only a notice: "The business you're trying to find goes against our guidelines and is no longer visible on Trustpilot." Trustpilot's notice doesn't say which guideline. Search-engine snippets still show an older rating, but we could not open the page behind it, so we don't quote it.

Two cautions. A separate "Candy Ai" profile for the domain candy-ai.eu is an unclaimed listing with no established link to EverAI; don't read its reviews as Candy AI's. And Reddit blocked our requests, so this review does not summarize Reddit opinion. The best signal we have is EverAI's own help center, which keeps articles titled "I've deleted my account. Why do you keep on charging me?" and "I already canceled my subscription, where is my refund?". Billing looks like the main friction.

Pros and cons

Verdict: is Candy AI worth it?

Candy AI is worth it if you want an all-in-one adult AI platform and you pay yearly: $47.88 buys a year of unlimited chat, generation features and Shorts access, with 100 tokens a month on top. The monthly plan works only as a one-month test, since $13.99 is more than three months at the annual rate. It is not worth it if you plan heavy video generation or long voice calls without knowing what tokens cost; check the token prices in your account first.
