To cancel a Candy AI subscription, sign in on candy.ai, open My Profile, go to Settings and press Unsubscribe at the bottom of the page. That stops the renewal. Your Premium access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, and cancelling does not refund anything by itself.
This covers every Candy AI plan — yearly, quarterly and monthly — and the Candy Shorts membership sold on candyshorts.com, which is the same Premium plan. It is based on Candy AI's help center and terms of service, read on October 2, 2026. We don't hold an account, so we describe the official instructions rather than show screenshots; where Candy AI's own sources contradict each other, we say so.
How to cancel Candy AI, step by step
- Sign in on candy.ai with the email that holds the plan. If you paid on candyshorts.com, it is the same candy.ai account (signing in is covered in how to watch Candy Shorts).
- Open My Profile, then Settings. Candy AI's footer says the same thing in short: "Cancel subscription at any time in settings".
- Scroll to the bottom and press Unsubscribe. The terms call this route "Settings / Unsubscribe"; the help center lists no other step.
- Keep a record. Take a screenshot once you have unsubscribed, keep any email Candy AI sends, and note your plan's end date in case a renewal shows up later.
When to cancel: any time before the renewal date, and there is no reason to wait for the last day. Plans renew automatically "for the same price and term" at the end of each period, and because access continues to the end of the period either way, cancelling the day after you pay costs you nothing. The terms also say any price increase is communicated before an auto-renewal, so watch for notices from Candy AI before your renewal date.
Because Candy AI has no native iPhone or Android app, there is no App Store or Google Play subscription to cancel. If you find a subscription to an app called "Candy" in your phone's store, it belongs to another developer and is cancelled in that store — see Candy AI app facts.
Paid on candyshorts.com? You still cancel on candy.ai
The Candy Shorts membership is Candy AI Premium under another door: the candyshorts.com paywall uses the same plan IDs and the same prices as candy.ai — $47.88 a year, $26.97 a quarter or $13.99 a month — and its privacy notice says account registration and payment take place through Candy.ai. So there is nothing separate to cancel on candyshorts.com; Settings on candy.ai covers both.
One wrinkle for guest checkouts. The candyshorts.com terms say that if you paid without an account, you must claim your Candy.ai account, generally within 7 calendar days; if you don't, the subscription is cancelled and not renewed. To cancel sooner, claim the account and use Settings like anyone else.
What happens after you cancel
- No pause. The help center says pausing is not possible; it's cancel or keep paying.
- Access to the end of the period. Premium stays active until the end of the billing period you paid for — on a yearly plan, that can be months.
- Then the free tier. A free candy.ai account is limited to 5 chat messages in total, one custom character and one image. Episodes 1 and 2 of every regular Shorts series stay free (the full free list); later episodes lock again.
- The account stays. Cancelling doesn't close it — the help center describes it as going "back to the Free service" — so you can subscribe again later.
Episodes bought one at a time with tokens on candy.ai show the line "Yours forever" on the unlock screen. Candy AI doesn't say how that applies to an account that has gone back to free, and we couldn't check it.
Your tokens after cancelling: the official answers disagree
This is the one point where Candy AI contradicts itself, so read both. The terms of service (§10.2) say: "Any remaining tokens in your account will expire and become unusable … they will not carry over or be refunded after your subscription ends." A help center article updated August 25, 2026 says the opposite: "Canceling your subscription does NOT delete your tokens. Your current balance will stay on your account". The candyshorts.com terms add that tokens left from a cancelled subscription "cannot be carried over to a new subscription", and tokens can never be exchanged for money.
Our advice: assume the stricter rule. Spend tokens you care about before your end date — on images or on Shorts episodes, which cost 12 tokens each on candy.ai, or 30 on creator series. Token costs are covered in Candy AI Shorts pricing.
Cancelling is not a refund: who can get money back
The help center is explicit: "Cancelling your subscription does not automatically issue a refund." Refunds exist, but the windows are short:
| Purchase | Deadline | Condition | Payment method |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscription on candy.ai | 24 hours after payment | 20 tokens or fewer used | Card only |
| Purchase on candyshorts.com | 24 hours after payment | Nothing streamed or accessed; at Candy's discretion | Card only |
| Token purchase | — | Refused once the tokens are used | — |
| EU and UK consumers | 14 days from the first purchase | Reduced in proportion to what you used; renewals excluded | — |
Requests go to Candy AI support; support@candymail.ai is the address its terms and help pages give. If you were charged for a renewal you didn't want, write within the 24 hours and before using tokens or streaming anything.
Chargebacks. Disputing the charge with your bank is a different route with a blunt consequence: the terms say "If a chargeback request is filed, the subscription … is immediately cancelled." Access ends at once rather than at the end of the period. If the charge is yours, try support first; if it isn't yours at all, call your bank.
Deleting your Candy AI account
- Open My Profile, then Settings.
- Go to the Danger Zone section.
- Press Delete Account.
The help center says deleting your account before the renewal date "will automatically cancel any active subscription". It also keeps an article titled "I've deleted my account. Why do you keep on charging me?", which suggests the two get mixed up often — so the cautious order is to unsubscribe first, delete second and check your next statement.
Deletion isn't total. Candy AI says it must "retain some data for legally mandated periods"; its privacy notice keeps financial data for ten years and log files for 30 days, and account data until you request deletion or for up to three years after your last activity. Deleted conversations can't be recovered, and accounts and tokens can't be transferred to another person; changing your own email needs support and proof of payment.
The "EverAI" charge on your statement
Candy AI and Candy Shorts bill as EverAI. The help center says the charge "will be displayed as 'EverAI'", and the candy.ai homepage FAQ says payments "appear under a neutral merchant name. There is no direct reference to Candy AI". The company is EverAI Limited, registered in Santa Venera, Malta.
That town name is a source of confusion. A third-party billing explainer points to a widely viewed Reddit thread in which cardholders didn't recognise a charge from "EVERAI SANTA VENERA" and some linked it to Candy.ai; we couldn't open the thread ourselves. If you see a charge like that, check your email for a candy.ai or candyshorts.com receipt and ask anyone who shares the card. If it's yours, cancel as above and ask for a refund inside 24 hours; if not, contact your bank. Billing and privacy are covered in is Candy AI safe.
Changing your card is not cancelling
You can change the card under Profile → Settings → "Change payment method" (card payments only). But the help center says that while you have an active subscription "you must keep at least one payment method on file", and the terms allow EverAI to charge a designated backup method if a renewal fails. Removing or cancelling a card is not a way to stop Candy AI; Unsubscribe is.
Checklist before you cancel
- Find the account that holds the plan, and whether you paid on candy.ai or candyshorts.com.
- If you were charged less than 24 hours ago, ask for the refund before using tokens or streaming.
- Spend the tokens you want to use.
- Finish the paid episodes you were following — the series list shows how long each runs.
- Note the end date: plans renew at $47.88 a year, $26.97 a quarter or $13.99 a month.
- Unsubscribe, keep a screenshot, and delete the account only afterwards if you want your data gone.
- Check your next statement for an EverAI charge.
If you're leaving for a competitor, compare first in Candy AI alternatives; if it's the price, the plans are compared in the price guide, and what stays free is in is Candy AI free.
Frequently asked questions
How do I cancel my Candy AI subscription?
Sign in on candy.ai, open My Profile, go to Settings and press Unsubscribe at the bottom. Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then the account goes back to the free tier.
How do I cancel Candy Shorts?
In the same place. A membership bought on candyshorts.com is a Candy AI Premium plan, billed through candy.ai, so you cancel it under Settings on candy.ai. The free episodes stay free afterwards.
Will I get a refund if I cancel Candy AI?
Not automatically: Candy AI's help center says cancelling does not issue a refund. A refund is possible only on card payments, within 24 hours, with 20 tokens or fewer used (on candyshorts.com, with nothing streamed). EU and UK buyers also have a 14-day withdrawal right on their first purchase.
What happens to my tokens when I cancel?
Candy AI's own sources disagree. The terms say remaining tokens expire when the subscription ends; a help article updated August 25, 2026 says cancelling does not delete them. Plan as if they expire and spend them before your end date.
Can I pause my Candy AI subscription?
No. The help center says pausing is not possible. Cancelling doesn't close your account, though, so you can subscribe again later.
Does deleting my account cancel the subscription?
Yes. The help center says deleting your account before the renewal date automatically cancels any active subscription. Some data is still kept for legally required periods, and deleted chats can't be recovered.
What is the EverAI charge on my card?
EverAI Limited is the Malta company behind Candy AI and Candy Shorts, and its charges show on statements as "EverAI". Some cardholders report a line reading "EVERAI SANTA VENERA", after the town where the company is registered. See is Candy AI safe for more on billing.
