Premise
Sharing a home with his girlfriend should be a simple step for Jake, but the household he joins is run by her stepmom, and she has rules. At first there is only one, and it sounds easy enough to follow.
It does not stay that way. Each new condition edges closer to a family tradition that no one has told Jake about, and everyone else in the house seems to understand something he does not. With the stepmom's husband also part of the household, the premise plays as an adult family-secret story with a gradual reveal rather than a single shock, and Jake is the outsider trying to read the room.
