Candy AI vs OurDream AI (2026): which is better?

Two adult AI companion platforms with chat, images and video, compared line by line on what each company publishes: price, free tier, currency, video, content rules, refunds, apps and privacy.

Short answer Candy AI, for most people

For most people Candy AI is the better pick: it is cheaper on every comparable plan, its free account lets you try it, and it is the only one of the two with ready-made video series. OurDream AI is the stronger choice if what you want most is to generate your own longer videos, up to 60 seconds, and you're willing to pay $9.99 a month or more for it.

Candy AI vs OurDream AI is the closest match-up in this category. Both are adult AI companion platforms with chat, image generation and video; both run in the browser; both sell a subscription plus an in-app currency. The differences are in price, the free tier, how video works and the rules. Everything below comes from each company's official pages and help center, read on October 2, 2026. We have not held accounts on either, so we compare what the two companies publish, not chat quality.

An honest note before the table: this guide earns a commission when readers join Candy AI through its tracked links, and has no arrangement with OurDream. OurDream, for its part, publishes its own Candy AI comparison. Weigh both accordingly.

Price: Candy AI costs less on every plan

The gap is wide. A year of Candy AI Premium bills $47.88; a year of OurDream bills $119.88, two and a half times as much. Month to month, Candy AI is $13.99 and OurDream $19.99. Candy AI also sells a quarterly plan at $8.99 a month ($26.97 every three months); OurDream's FAQ lists only yearly and monthly. Both renew automatically — Candy AI's plans say "Renews automatically for the same price and term", and its terms promise notice before any price increase.

What the price buys is broadly similar: unlimited messages, image generation and video generation on both, plus a monthly currency allowance. OurDream's yearly plan front-loads coins (its help center says 2,000 at once, then 1,000 a month). Candy AI also has a Premium Plus tier with 330 tokens a month, but its price isn't shown to logged-out visitors. The full Candy AI breakdown is in Candy AI Shorts pricing.

Free tier: Candy lets you try, OurDream barely does

A free Candy AI account can send 5 messages in total across all characters, create one custom character and generate one image. That's a sample, not a plan — but it is usable without a card. Candy Shorts adds more: episodes 1 and 2 of every regular series play free, 246 episodes in all, and on candyshorts.com they play without an account. Candy's homepage also mentions a free trial, but no trial plan appears on its subscriptions page, so don't count on one.

OurDream's free side is thinner. Its help center says that without a subscription every chat costs 1 coin, that coins can't be bought without a subscription, and that free coins come only from Discord events. Images and videos need a subscription outright. More on Candy's side in is Candy AI free and the free Candy Shorts episodes.

Tokens vs dreamcoins

Both platforms charge extras in their own currency, and the units don't convert. Candy AI Premium includes 100 tokens a month, credited on your subscription date. Regular chat costs nothing on a paid plan; tokens pay for images, video, voice messages, voice calls (3 tokens a minute at the beta price) and private content packs. Inside candy.ai, Shorts episodes after the free pair cost 12 tokens each, or 30 on creator series. Candy doesn't show token pack prices or per-image costs to logged-out visitors.

OurDream gives 1,000 dreamcoins a month and, to its credit, publishes a price list: 5 coins for an in-chat image, 10 coins for two standard images, 50 coins a minute for voice calls, 100 coins per 5 seconds of standard video and 20 coins a second to add audio. If you cancel and later resubscribe, OurDream says unused coins are not restored. What happens to Candy tokens after cancelling is contested between its own terms and help center — see how to cancel Candy AI.

Video: make your own, or watch a series

This is where the two really differ. OurDream is built around generating video: up to 60 seconds per clip, at 100 coins per 5 seconds, so a full minute costs 1,200 coins — more than a month's allowance. Ultra quality costs more, and audio is extra. It also has a gallery it describes as "Hundreds of free HD clips".

Candy AI generates video in two ways: converting an image into a video, and "Build Your Video", a preset builder where you choose the character, action, location and partner. An older help article says Candy doesn't generate video from scratch, and it doesn't publish a per-video cost to guests. Then there is the part OurDream has no equivalent for: Candy Shorts, 132 AI-generated series on October 2, 2026, each episode under two minutes, with recurring characters and cliffhangers, some led by licensed creator twins. How the two Candy formats compare is in Candy AI videos, and the catalogue is in all Candy Shorts series.

Content rules and real people

Both are for adults only. Beyond that, OurDream's Prohibited Content Policy is stricter in named areas: it bans incest themes, non-consensual themes and some fetishes, and its homepage says "Deepfakes and lookalikes of real people, including celebrities, are also banned." Candy AI's Blocked Content Policy bans content resembling minors, impersonation and celebrity content, non-consensual imagery and deepfakes, and its Community Guidelines bar users from creating images that resemble real persons.

The difference in practice: Candy AI has official real-person content, OurDream doesn't. Candy lists 13 creators who licensed an AI twin "in direct partnership with and with the full consent of the creator", and four of them — Riley Reid, Bonnie Blue, Sophie Dee and Mia Malkova — lead Shorts series (see Candy Shorts digital twins). OurDream's policy explicitly bans incest themes, while Candy's catalogue includes many step-family premises between adult characters, as the titles make plain: a real difference in what each platform allows. The details of Candy's limits are in Candy AI NSFW rules.

Refunds, cancelling and privacy

Refunds. Candy AI refunds only card payments, only if you ask within 24 hours, and only if you've used 20 tokens or fewer; EU and UK buyers can withdraw within 14 days of the first purchase, minus what they've used. OurDream's help center refuses refunds once more than 25% of a product has been used and never refunds crypto; its policy allows defect claims within 14 days and a 14-day withdrawal in the EU, UK and Switzerland.

Cancelling. On Candy AI it's My Profile → Settings → Unsubscribe; on OurDream, your profile page. On both, access lasts until the end of the period you paid for. Candy charges show as "EverAI" on statements; OurDream doesn't accept PayPal.

Privacy. OurDream says chats are protected by end-to-end encryption and "No one can read them, not even us" — that is OurDream's claim, and we can't verify it. Candy AI's terms license user content to EverAI for training its models, and its privacy notice says third-party LLM providers may receive message content and that de-identified interactions may be reviewed by humans. Apps: both are web apps

Neither has a native iPhone or Android app. Candy AI's help center says it offers a web app you add with "Add to Home Screen"; OurDream says "We don't have a standalone mobile app yet" and gives the same advice. Apps called "Candy" in the stores are from other developers — see Candy AI app facts.

Who should pick which

Pick Candy AI if

  • You want the lower price, especially for a full year.
  • You want to try before paying.
  • You want series to watch, not only clips to generate.
  • You're interested in licensed creator twins.

Pick OurDream AI if

  • You mainly generate your own videos and want up to 60 seconds.
  • You want a published price list for every extra.
  • You prefer a US company to a Malta one.
  • You value its end-to-end encryption claim.

Verdict

On the published facts, Candy AI wins on price, on the free tier and on having something OurDream doesn't do at all: a catalogue of ready-made series. OurDream is the clearer choice for generating your own longer videos — up to 60 seconds, a length Candy doesn't publish for its own generator — and it is more transparent about what extras cost. If you're undecided, the cheapest test is Candy's free tier and its free Shorts episodes; for other options, see the best Candy AI alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

Is Candy AI better than OurDream AI?

On published prices and the free tier, yes: Candy AI costs less on every comparable plan and lets you try it without paying. OurDream AI lets you generate videos of up to 60 seconds and publishes coin prices for its main extras. Only Candy AI has ready-made series, Candy Shorts.

Is OurDream AI cheaper than Candy AI?

No. On October 2, 2026 OurDream's yearly plan billed $119.88 against Candy AI's $47.88, and its monthly plan cost $19.99 against $13.99. Candy AI also has a quarterly plan, $26.97 every three months, which OurDream doesn't list.

Does OurDream AI have a free version?

Barely. Without a subscription each chat costs 1 dreamcoin, coins can't be bought without subscribing, and images and videos need a plan. Candy AI's free account gives 5 messages, 1 custom character and 1 image, and the Shorts free episodes play without paying: see is Candy AI free.

Are 1,000 dreamcoins more than 100 Candy tokens?

The numbers can't be compared directly, because each currency is priced differently. A voice call costs 50 dreamcoins a minute on OurDream and 3 tokens a minute on Candy AI at its beta price, and a 60-second OurDream video costs 1,200 coins. Compare what you would actually spend the currency on.

Does OurDream AI have anything like Candy Shorts?

Not on the pages we read on October 2, 2026. OurDream has a gallery of clips, text roleplay games and "Romantasy" stories, but no pre-made video series with episodes. Candy Shorts had 132 series on October 2, 2026: see all the series.

Can I make AI content of real people on either site?

No. OurDream bans deepfakes and lookalikes of real people, and Candy AI's guidelines bar users from creating images that resemble real persons. The only real people on Candy AI are creators who licensed an official twin: see Candy Shorts digital twins.

Is OurDream AI really end-to-end encrypted?

That is OurDream's own claim on its homepage — "No one can read them, not even us" — and it can't be checked from outside. Candy AI makes no such claim: its terms license user content for training EverAI's models, and its privacy notice says third-party LLM providers may receive message content.
